The Erosion of Time illuminates contemporary artists Dean Mitchell and Des Lucréce’s lived experience, offering a window into the reality of navigating the intersection of multiple identities. For Lucréce, each work serves as commentary on societal, cultural, and personal dimensions of his experience of living without a “home center,” inviting viewers to reflect upon identity, belonging, and the transformative power of empathy and understanding in our interconnected world. As an artist first and humanitarian second, Mitchell’s imagery of people and places strives to imbue visitors with a sense of the artist’s hope for humanity while portraying poverty and portraits conveying an array of emotion.
Erosion of Time was designed and developed by MoA+L’s in-house art team of 3D Motion Graphic designers led by the Creative Director of Immersive Exhibitions, Sydney Bouhaniche, in collaboration with the exhibited artists.
